- Higher efficiency (up to 95%) (vs TPS826711)
Design Notes
Place input and output capacitors as close to the VIN and VOUT pins as possible. Use 10µF ceramic for input and 22µF for output as recommended. Ensure a solid ground plane under the module to minimize parasitic inductance and improve thermal performance.
The exposed pad on the bottom of the MicroSiP package must be soldered to a large copper area for heat dissipation. For high load currents, provide thermal vias to the ground plane. The junction-to-ambient thermal resistance is typically 40°C/W, so at 3A with 1V dropout, power dissipation is 3W, requiring adequate copper area.
Do not exceed the absolute maximum input voltage of 6V. Ensure the output capacitors have sufficient voltage rating and low ESR. The EN pin must not be left floating; tie it to VIN if not used. The PG pin is open-drain and requires a pull-up resistor to a voltage no higher than 6V.
Compliance Information
